The Client

Fairway Gardens is a retirement living community designed with a focus on promoting active lifestyles, wellness and social interaction among residents. Featuring apartments with five-star facilities, Fairway Gardens delivers five-star resort living with a large pool, gym, hairdresser, library, spa, and more. This innovative aged care concept is a collaboration between Ignite Architects, Boffa Miskell and Reward Hospitality.

The Project

Design, fit-out & project manage 5 x five-star retirement living hospitality facilities for Metlifecare Group. The first location at Pakuranga Golf Course, Auckland, was successfully completed on time and to budget in July 2021. The project included state-of-the-art facilities of the on-site café, bar, and kitchen areas at Fairway Gardens, overlooking Pakuranga Gold Course in Auckland. The remaining four sites are on track and will set a new standard in retirement living.

How We Help

The Brief

Deliver a five-star innovative and sustainable solution for all kitchen, bar, and food service areas. Working with Metlifecare to ensure their vision and requirements were realised, Reward Hospitality selected and installed all furniture, fixtures, and equipment required to create their visually stunning and efficient facilities. Each space was designed with sustainability in mind, such as materials used and water use, to ensure a Green Star rating.

Implementation – The Process

1. Provide detailed descriptions and options during the design development.
2. Provide detailed 3D drawings and specifications in the planning process.
3. Clearly communicate and coordinate with other contractors and consultants.
4. Cost plan and provide expert advice and information throughout the project.
5. Comply and cooperate with all directions issued by the client and the leading architect.
6. Provide full review of food and beverage trade, beyond the project's completion, to assist the client in their future assessments and decision making.

This innovative retirement village was designed by leading practice Ignite Architects, with landscape design from Boffa Miskell, and hospitality catering design and provisioning by Reward Hospitality.
